A Thank You to the Cape Cod Makers for help building our portable arena. Hopefully league members will help us to make it bigger and better.
This is our combat robot arena, and some billiard balls and toy trucks to use as sparring partners.
We are attached to the Cape Cod Makers display
There are now two autonomous mechanical target bots to practice on, Sheldon and Churchy. They run mindlessly around the arena, changing direction whenever they hit something. They should be very difficult to damage unless they get flipped over. But the main challenge is to chase them down and apply your weapon effectively to a moving target.
Sheldon is simply a Bump-N-Go toy truck chassis fitted into a stainless bowl. Churchy has a purpose-built more rugged and powerful Bump-N-Go mechanism with a 3D printed frame, ball bearings, brass gears, and a titanium bowl.
Dug the Angry Robot Clam Inspired by Doug the Quahog, another resident of the Cape. If you were a clam, and you were dug, wouldn't you be angry?

I have always said we need to decide the "flavor" of our robot league. Here is an article on the subject from Servo magazine.
